Family gathered together during Spring 2026

Spring Back Home

A Season Filled With Family, Love & Gratitude

A Season to Remember

“The most beautiful memories are often made in the simplest family moments.”

Returning to the United States in March brought us a season filled with love, celebration, togetherness, and unforgettable memories with family and friends. These moments reminded us once again how precious time together truly is.

A Wedding Beneath the Snow

One of the first special moments after our return was attending our nephew Roshan's wedding. It was a truly beautiful celebration held on a snowy March day.

As the snow gently fell from above, it felt as though the Almighty was showering glitter upon Roshan and Mia as they began their new journey together. Despite the winter weather outside, the day was filled with warmth, joy, laughter, and the love of family gathered together.

Being There for Family

During this season, Ruky spent much of her time caring for her parents—taking them to doctor's appointments, helping with chores around the house, and assisting with many of the everyday tasks that become increasingly important with time.

Being able to support them and spend quality moments together meant so much to both of us.

Although we had originally planned to return to Malaysia on May 20th, life reminded us once again that family comes first. Due to Ruky's mother needing knee surgery, we decided to postpone our return until the end of June so we could continue supporting the family during this important time.

Thankfully, Mom's surgery went very well, and we are grateful for her continued recovery and healing. Having the opportunity to remain close by during this season became an unexpected blessing for all of us.

Every Mile Was Worth It

We also took a memorable road trip to visit our daughter, Keshini, and our son-in-law, Parker. The fourteen-hour drive there—and another fourteen-hour drive back home—was absolutely worth every mile.

We had a splendid time together creating memories, sharing conversations, laughter, and wonderful meals. One of my greatest joys was cooking up a storm once again simply to enjoy cooking for my daughter and my son-in-law.

A Little Time for Ourselves

Amid all the family visits and celebrations, we also took a little time for ourselves with a mini staycation in downtown Minneapolis.

The beautiful weather, relaxing atmosphere, and wonderful ambience made it a truly special weekend together.

Around the Family Table

This season also brought us even closer to our son, Dinesh, and his soon-to-be bride, Emily.

We spent quality time together playing Spades, cooking countless meals, laughing endlessly, and introducing Emily to some authentic homemade Indian cooking. These simple moments around the dining table became some of our favorite memories.

Our extended stay also gave us time to attend Mia's birthday celebration and a wonderful Memorial Day BBQ hosted by Ruky's brother. It was one of those simple yet meaningful gatherings filled with laughter, good food, conversations, and the comfort of being surrounded by loved ones.

Looking Back with Gratitude

As we reflect on these past few months, our hearts are filled with gratitude.

We are deeply thankful for all the time spent with both our immediate and extended families, but most especially for the precious opportunity to spend meaningful time with Ruky's parents.

These moments—both big and small—are the memories that truly make life beautiful.
