Celebrating 65 Years
of Love & Family

Honoring Nana & Papa
A Legacy Spanning Four Generations
65th Wedding Anniversary Celebration

Family milestones become even more meaningful when we pause to reflect on the people who made them possible. This page is dedicated to Ruky’s parents in celebration of their 65th wedding anniversary — honoring not only the years they have shared together, but the generations of family, love, laughter, and memories that grew from their journey.

“Together, you’ve built a bridge between two worlds and four generations.”

Good afternoon, everyone. For those who don’t know me, I’m Senali — one of the lucky grandchildren. It’s incredible to think that this entire crowd started with just two people a very long time ago in Sri Lanka.

To my grandparents: thank you for the courage it took to leave everything you knew behind to give us the life we have here. We are the dream you worked so hard for, and we are so proud to be your legacy.

People often ask what the secret is to 65 years of marriage, and looking at you two, I’ve realized it’s all about balance. You are the perfect example of how opposites don’t just attract — they keep the world spinning.

In our family, we have a very specific ecosystem of love: Nana is the saint, and Papa… well, Papa is the “honest” one.

It’s a perfect balance, really. Nana spends her day being the kindest person on the planet just to make up for whatever Papa just said about us looking like dirty laundry baskets! If Nana is the one inviting you in for tea and warmth, Papa is the one telling you exactly what he thinks and asking why your hair looks like that before you’ve even crossed the doorstep.

But in all seriousness, that’s why it works.

Papa, you are our spark. You say exactly what you mean, you keep us laughing, and you taught us how to be bold. Behind that comical, unfiltered exterior is a man who loves this massive, chaotic family more than anything in the world.

Nana, you are the glue. You are the kindest, warmest, and smartest person we know. You move through this family with a grace that keeps all of us connected. You’ve managed to mother seven children and grandmother over thirty of us, making every single one feel like we are your favorite.

Together, you’ve built a bridge between two worlds and four generations. You’ve shown us that a successful marriage isn’t just about staying together — it’s about building a foundation strong enough to hold all of us.

So if everyone could help me congratulate Nana and Papa — two people who are loved so deeply by everyone in this room.

To Nana and Papa — we love you.
